Inspired Artist
Vorja Sanchez
When I was looking for an artist that I was inspired by one artists paintings really popped out to me. Vorja Sanchez Is an amazing artist who lives in Barcelona. He paints( mainly watercolor) imaginative representations of birds wolves and hybrid creatures. These paintings popped out to me because of the amount of detail and creative work that was put in. In the picture above you can see a variety of birds of different sizes and colors. Not all birds are the same, In fact some of the birds have a creative twist to it like the bird on the left border and in the middle. I found this creative twist was truly inspiring to me because it shows me that art can really be anything that comes to your mind. The picture below is a wolf but notice it has an creative twist that makes it look more cartoon or fantasy like. This feature about his art is what I found most amazing about Vorja. He is truly an amazing artist with so much artistic ability.
Drawing Project 1
1.) I found the sphere warm up was the most helpful for me. I found it the best because It taught me how to add value and even though the sphere above doesn't look the best I now have learned the way to add value. Without this warm up I probably wouldn't have learned how to add value and my other pieces of art would have been worse.
2.) The Definition of Value is " The lightness or darkness of tones or colors"
The definition of composition is " The placement or arrangement of visual elements in a work of art"
3.) Pros and Cons for Pencil: I found that pencil was the 2nd easiest medium to work with because you could erase and draw lightly with it. These are pros for working with pencils because it makes it more useful for kids and people who are just beginning with art and make a lot of mistakes. Some cons for Pencil is that it leaves smears and blurs if you erase it which isn't exactly the best when your trying to get something really spot on.
Pros and Cons for Pens: I found that pens were the hardest to work with even though you get to use pencil for the base. I found that it was really hard not to make mistakes because you couldn't erase if you didn't like it. Another thing I didn't like was the different styles of drawing with pens. I found that it didn't appeal to me but thats just my opinion. Event though I found it the hardest to work with I did like the effect that It gave me. Unlike pencil and charcoal that were more lighter colors, Pen gave me a dark and solid color that looked great once finished.
Pros and cons of Charcoal: I found this medium was the easiest to work with and the reasons are clear. I found that it was so easy to draw and get your ideas down without having to worry that if you make a mistake its all over because you could simply blend everything back into the background. I also found that value was so much easier to add to the drawings because of the charcoal. The only problem or con was that It was really messy and you have to be careful while using it. Overall I found this medium the best out of all the others.
